Good news for people in Byron Bay and Canberra.

into their website for people in Byron Bay and the
University of Canberra. If you want to set up a carpool
for your region, just tell us.
Now you can search for a car or
passengers that will go the same route as you thus
eliminating the typical scene in a traffic jam of cars
with only one person inside.

| Attention: Database Roolback | May 11, 2006 | |
We give advise to all users to check their postings (registration, lift offers/requests, guestbook entries etc.) made on May 11, 2006. Our database crashed, we had to restore the data with a backup. So we had a gap of approx four hours (18:00 - 22:00 QLD TIME). Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

After a long, long summer break we are back with a couple of news ...
1st, needaride.com.au is still doing well. The platform runs and runs, nobody complains, new users register day by day ... although we still have some nice new features in the drawer ;)
Furthermore we moved our Web Application to a new server. This caused actually a couple of problems and a three day offline time ... sorry for this. Together with our friends from Hosting Shop we fixed this finally. Cheers!

| Problems with sending registration mails | Januar 21, 2005 | |
In the last couple of days the mail system of our provider didn't work properly. Some of the registration mails did not reach the user. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.
We have updated our system to fix the Problem.
If you have registered and you still have not received the userkey, please let us know. We will instantly activate your account. We will move our system to a more reliable server asap.

After a long period without a word from your favourite
website, we come with some great news! We have added a
couple of new features to the website...
- you can now delete your user account of your own
- you can additionally specify the vehicle used (e.g.
plane, boat) in your offer or request,
so it is a lot easier to look for trips that can only
be done by boat for example
- rides in search result list are now also sorted by
the hour of departure
- permanent rides in search result list are marked
with a P

Two days ago parts of our database crashed. Unfortunately we were not able to restore the data immediately.
We are very sorry for the erroneous website of the last days. Now the problems are solved. No data has got lost. Thanks to all who reported bugs!

| Website Update - two new features | May 3, 2003 | |
Since we at needaride try to make our website every time more user-friendly we have concocted a great new idea for those who have to go that same route every day/week.
Now commuters can enter permanent rides, which basically means that they can enter their offer/request once and it will be valid for months and months.
Basically the only thing you have to do when you enter your offer/request is click the box permanent rides. Then you will be asked on what day you usually make your daily/weekly trip. The rest of the information is the usual: where you're leaving from, where you're going to and what time you plan on leaving.
Our second new feature benefits all those who request rides.
Now they can also enter stopovers making it more likely to find a ride,
or at least for a part of your trip.
For example if you enter a request for a ride from Townsville to Melbourne and enter as stopovers Brisbane and Sydney, you will receive offers for rides from for example Brisbane to Melbourne and Townsville to Sydney as well as from
Townsville to Melbourne.
